Hello Everyone!!! Back to Blogging after 2 whole months….this time I decided to write on Go Green…Reading this line almost everywhere now-a-days. Its become very important for our environment and for our home. And so that’s why I am bringing you top tips and ideas for making your home more Greener..

Green makes humans feel the most comfortable because it is so expansive in nature.  Green is one of the few colors in the spectrum that can be a neutral and an accent color.  Muted greens can be mixed with grey to give a lovely backdrop and then it can be saturated into a dark forest green to add drama to an accent wall.

The limits of green are endless, and here are 10 fresh ways to bring it into your décor.

1)  Rejuvenate and Energize: If you want to be energized in your space, add bright green with bright yellow undertones. Used in fabric throw pillows, wallpaper and wall art, green can inspire and help you be creative. Use it in family rooms, playrooms, art studios and work out rooms of your home.
2)  Green in the bathroom is refreshing: Nature inspired colors in the bathroom connect your body and spirit to get revitalized and refreshed. Try adding green in soothing hues of sage and moss in wall paint, bath linen and area rugs.
3) Sleep well: Similarly to the bathroom, your bedroom is about tranquility and rejuvenation. Create a Zen-like oasis with bed linen, window treatments in varying shades of greens and browns.  Espresso brown and spring green emulate a forest and being amongst nature.
4)  Green in the kitchen is nourishing: From painted kitchen cabinetry to soothing greens in a kitchen back splash,  nourishing green is a favorite in the kitchen.  Just as animals and humans derive their food from greenery, kitchen appliances and cookware are all becoming popular in green hues.
5) Calm your senses: If you’re looking for décor that is subdued and relaxing, pair pale greens and buttery yellows for a relaxing meditation room.  The human body enjoys colors that relax and soothe.  Add matching décor to the walls in collections to visually add interest and to carry through the color scheme.

6) Kids rooms love green: Apple, lime, and chartreuse greens are all bright and happy versions to bring a cheery disposition to play areas and children’s rooms. Used alone or paired with blues, browns, yellows, or purples – green is playful and fun.

7) Masculine greens are popular in décor: Green is very versatile and isn’t gender specific. Although hunters green, kelly green and army green tend to be used in home libraries, dens and billiards rooms to evoke masculine appeal.

8) Liven up your urban home: For those of you that are seconds away from walking outside onto a green lawn, consider yourself fortunate. For those that live in urban homes, bring nature into your home with live greenery, water features, and natural fibers and décor.  When you bring green into your furniture, and surroundings, the noise and hustle and bustle of urban life will melt away inside your nature inspired home.

9)  Eco-friendly décor goes ‘green’: From the color green to earth friendly ‘green’ – your home can benefit from quickly renewable resources in your décor. Choose from cork flooring, seagrass furniture, and jute area rugs.  Your home and family benefit from green décor and so does Mother Nature!
10) Green means balance in Feng shui: The color green is a balancing color which means harmony. Consider using green as an exterior home color along with fresh green plants in your front entry and back porch.  Your entire home can feel centered and harmonious with the use of green.

Find your perfect green with a choice between cool mint tones, zesty lime shades, rich forest hues or fresh sage tints!!!

If you could pick one color to represent calm, relaxation, energy and balance it’s the color green.  Colors that are found naturally in nature will make your home feel welcoming every time you come home.  Use these 10 tips for adding green to your décor and see how nature and your home are truly harmonious. Always remember less is more – keep it chic, not Shrek..

Hello Everyone!!

Finally I am back to blogging after 6 days of inspirational and rejuvenating holidays in Bangkok 😀

Today I am going to write about the currently trending: DIP DYE ITEMS.

Some trends stay and some fade, but one trend that began catching on is now on fire.  Ombre aka “dipped dyed” means shaded in French. It’s all the rage from fashion to hair and now to interiors as well.

Few months back, one of my college Friend, Luanne, an avid Fashion Blogger (Weesha’s World), had dip dyed her hair in pink color…little did I know that this trend would find its way in furniture and home décor accessories also. .  Love it!

According to me, Dip Dye trend can also be called as “Split Personality”. Because the same furniture piece can have two different looks..which is great!!
The dipped look has been gaining momentum for a while now.  In fact, I’d be shocked if you haven’t already seen something dipped. Here are few of my favorite dipped pieces and items.
Dip dye Trend in Fashion…

So, what do you guys think about this trend? Its an enjoyable twist on a traditional paint makeover with just a ‘dip’ of unexpected colour. It’s a fun and easy-to-do treatment at home with stunning results. These were several ideas on ways to decorate with dip-dyed accessories and furniture.

Would you do this to any of your furniture or accessories?? Do leave your comment below 🙂

Hello friends!

Today I am going to enlighten you with some of the latest summer styles that’s trending these days in basically all the types of industries. I’ve been seeing these trends everywhere from fashion to interiors and in the work of some of today’s top contemporary artists. With any trend, I recommend incorporating small touches into your own home and accessories and artwork are a great way to do this.

Below are the mood boards I put together of all of the things I’ve been inspired by lately and also some ideas for how you can incorporate this look into your own home! I hope you find this as inspiring as I do!

1) Starting with PASTELS…This year, pastels are all the rage.  We’ve already seen them on the runways in spring fashion collections, but did you know pastels will be big for interiors, too?  A complete 180 from the dark greys and heavy wood tones that have dominated the interior scene lately, this spring we’ll see things freshen up with light shades of our favorite colors.  The trick?  Keeping it contemporary.
2) NeoN Brights….Bright and Funky, everyone needs a little neon in their life at some point don’t they? I am really loving bright pops of colour right now, from my electric blue skinny jeans to the gorgeous HELLO KITTY lipstick I recently purchased in the hottest pink.
Here you have an eclectic mix of bold and bright neon colours, very kitsch and quirky, I can see this working really well against a stark, white backdrop, or perhaps something more urban and industrial.
3) Pretty in Lace…With a provocative and sweet feel, it’s no surprise that lace has become the ultimate must-have this season. From dark and edgy to vintage and soft, the versatile, ornate fabric can do no wrong. We’ve seen this trend on a variety of looks this season ranging from tops and skirts, to gloves and jewelry and now to INTERIORS as well..
4) TEAL color…..This is not your ordinary teal. This is a stand-out, warmly tinted, wildly refined, deep teal. Neither green nor blue, silent nor shocking, deep teal pauses in a perfect middle-ground aesthetic that will turn heads and feel just right at home or in your closet…
5) NATURAL…There is something to be said about the timeless looks of a neutral palette in INTERIORS or FASHION. One of the current trend, of course, were the so-called “neutral” colors: beige, nude, flesh-colored, and shades of powder or sand and similar to them palette of semitones.
The naturalness, innocence, tenderness – that’s what designers remind us in their spring collections. This applies to evening dresses and to casual wear, to lingerie and shoes, to handbags and all other kinds of accessories and home decor.
6) LEOPARD…..Leopard, leopard and more leopard is all that we are seeing from last few seasons.  Leopard is the popular trend in prints and textiles.  It is also used in just about every apparel piece, shoe, watch, and even nail art this season. It has started its trend in home interiors as well from floor rugs to throw pillows and beyond.
7) MINIMALIST….Minimalism is a trend that has been used in interior design and architecture. Minimalist design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture. The trend somehow helps you to create a smart, relaxing, clutter-free look in your home. Thus, modern minimalist pictured softer, more personal and easier to live with.
8) PAINTERLY…The new painting techniques are popping up in everything from tabletop decor and cushions to wallpaper, from mobile covers to handbags. Wide brush strokes, mural paintings and finger painting are opening up new ways to incorporate vibrant flourishes of art in our everyday lives.
9) SUZANI…In its most general sense, the Uzbek word “suzani” means needlework. However, most suzani lovers associate the word with the intricate, beautiful, and colorful embroidery work made by women in the Central Asian country of Uzbekistan. They add great pattern and beautiful eclectic touch and can work in country, modern or vintage interiors.
10) ART…Colorful and Abstract!!
So what do you guys think of these trends?? Please leave your feedbacks and comments below. And also tell me which one is your favorite? I LOVE, LOVE all of them 😀 * Cheers*

Hello Friends!!

“In this busy world where changes are constant, I often get bored of the setting I live in. I have an incessant desire to remodel my space but I hardly find time to do it.”

Have you heard this story before? Well, I have…many a times, from both family and friends. How much ever time and money one spends in Home Décor…it is never enough!

Seasons change, and so do our moods. It is certainly difficult to switch decors every now and then, but, we don’t have to sit back thinking we cannot do anything at all and keep putting up in a place that has now turned unglamorously mundane. With little tit-bits of add-ons…like some cushions/decorative pillows and accessories, we all can make our home look stylish and up to date.

Here are some brilliant examples of decorative pillows which are in vogue currently. Have a look; you might just end up desiring one!

The other day I was in Dubai Mall, I came across a store named “Pottery Barn”, a Design Studio from US, which is famous for its exclusively designed and innovative product techniques.  Their home furnishings are exceptional in comfort, style, and quality, and each piece in the collection is inspired by time–honored designs from around the world and crafted using the finest materials and processes available.

I personally loved their cushion collections which includes natural colors, linen and cotton fabrics, Chenille Solids and Jacquards, Intricate Ornamentation, Beautiful block and screen printed patterns, and Woven and Embroidered Surface Ornamentation. So I thought of sharing some of their design ideas with you all. I am sure these patterns and colors would bring in cool effect in this summer season.

Imagine a room with all the furniture but no cushions or decorative pillows. Wouldn’t it look barren and boring? Cushions are significant decorating accessories that make your space look stylish and versatile and are light on your budget of home décor. They make up for easy décor alterations too when you desire to add interest all throughout your interiors or even outdoors.

As a designer, I suggest everyone to have a stylish collection of cushions and decorative pillows to accessorize the space in whatever way you like or prefer. With a plethora of cushions available in the market, it gets easy to select textures, colors, designs and fabrics as per your choice and décor style.

Below are some of my personal favourite cushions and fabrics from Designer Guild, UK. I totally love their bright colors and patterns. If you lead a very casual/informal lifestyle, funky/jazzy designs suit you the best. Then create a good mix of colorful and decorative cushions in unusual shapes and create a delightful atmosphere. Colorful cushions on a white sofa is a brilliant combination.

These above cushions are my favorite too. Love the patchwork done with brocades, saris, mirrors and embroidery fabrics. These style brings in a very warm and traditional feel to the whole space.

Cushions as an accessory can be added just anywhere and not just in the living room. They look great on beds, dining chairs and floors too. They complete the entire look and are a complete fit in all sorts of environments. The idea is to choose what you like or what goes well with the present décor style, what matches your taste and what suits your personality.

Cheers!! Love to all :):)
